“ "After a relentless attack on the U.S. for opposing the Kyoto protocol, environmentalist [wacko] groups concede the international treaty will have no impact on what they believe to be impending catastrophic global warming." Now, look, this is a serious story and those of you on the left who believe this global warming stuff -- and you know who you are -- and you believe it in your heart because you want to believe America is that rotten; you want to believe we are that powerful yet we would purposely destroy the planet. We would purposely cause all this destruction, and that's why you are fringe figures anymore.

| Global warming is hoax propagated by "wacko" environmental groups. | Global warming is a real problem, caused by greenhouse gas emissions, at least according to most reputable scientists. A Science Magazine survey found that a consensus exists that global warming is due to human causes and is a major problem. Even the Defense Department recently issued a report on the potential national security implications which stated that, “substantial evidence” exists that global warming is happening. |
| The Kyoto treaty will have no impact on global warming. | While Kyoto is only a first step it is an important one. It is the first international treaty requiring reductions in emissions that lead to global warming. Many of the frameworks it sets up will be extremely important in future efforts. Kyoto will see cuts of 6 greenhouse gases to 5% below 1990 levels. Some EU nations will probably see even higher cuts than that, according to the European Environmental Agency. But these things are only important to people who believe in scientific evidence, and eat food, drink water, and breath to sustain their lives. |
| Environmental groups are "wacko" | Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot. Everybody knows this. |
| Environmental groups and groups on the left believe this stuff because "you want to believe America is that rotten; you want to believe we are that powerful yet we would purposely destroy the planet. We would purposely cause all this destruction, and that's why you are fringe figures anymore." | Environmental groups love their country and love life. What's scary is that this guy has a TV show and a radio show. How could anyone take this crap seriously? |
| People on the left want to believe that "the rich corporate capitalists who themselves don't care if they breathe dirty air, don't care if their kids get burnt to a crisp with global warming, you think all they want to do is get rich. While they themselves die, along with you from all of these horrible things." The fact that alleged polluters still have to breath the air proves that pollution is a myth. | Actually, many
business in recent years begun to worry more about global warming.
For example, many insurance companies are becoming advocates of
efforts to stop global warming because they fear rising claims costs
from irregular weather. Many business leaders are coming around to the belief that global warming is a serious threat that must be dealt with. Organizations like the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (whose members include Maytag and the American Gas Association) and even oil companies like BP are undertaking efforts to promote more energy efficiency and emissions reductions. |
| You may actually think
that all of this is about you. You may think of yourself as powerless,
and you're nothing but a victim. If you're on the left, that probably
pretty much describes you. You're a victim of everything. You're
a victim of fossil fuels. You're a victim of evil corporate capitalists.
You're a victim of tax cuts for the rich. You are a victim of global
warming. You're a victim of the pharmaceutical companies. You're
a victim of Ken Lay. You're a victim of Enron. You're a victim of
Bush. You're a double and triple victim of Rumsfeld. You are a victim
of practically everything. Everybody's out to getcha. |
Funny for Rush to talk about victimization when his entire personality and show is based around straight white men being society's primary victims. |
| The left is wrought
with contradictions because we favor choice and legal abortion yet
we don't want people to eat cheeseburgers. "On the one hand, you run around and you have made a career and you have tried to identify yourselves by saying, "Keep the government and everybody else out of my womb!" and in the next sentence, you want in everybody's mouth by telling them what they can't put there. You want everybody out of your womb, but yet nobody should eat cheeseburgers; nobody should eat Big Macs; nobody should eat this or that. As long as you keep up with these contradictory statements, you will become more and more marginalized and more and more kooky and you will only affirm similar emotions and thoughts within your little group but you're not going to persuade others. " And somehow global warming is an example of this. |
Whereas Republicans are the opposite. They want to run everyone’s personal lives but get government off the back of society’s truly disenfranchised, those in the upper tax brackets. |
| "Tell me what Kyoto is all about, then -- and so the keyword in this paragraph is 'it will only have symbolic effect.' Symbolic effect is all the left is interested in terms of persuading people. We are never to ask the results of their work, only their intentions. We're never supposed to dig deep to find out how their ideas work or fail. The left craves accolades for good intentions, despite catastrophic results." | Like constitutional amendments to ban flag burning? If the left is just based on symbolism, explain labor unions, civil rights, Social Security, Medicare, food safety regulations, the Marshall Plan, etc., etc. |
Wow, he really is a big fat idiot. Why
in the world does this jerk have a show? And who the hell watches
him? We have just got to get on TV.
Ok, let's kick in the facts. Global warming is almost universally
accepted as scientific fact. A few years ago, a handful of scientists
wrote op-ed pieces a few years back which claimed there was insufficient
evidence to prove global warming. These guys were all energy company
hacks. (See http://www.exxonsecrets.org/)
Rush Limbaugh is clearly a big fat idiot, and a drug addict to boot.
The whole liberals-hate-America shtick is so old and transparent.
We love America enough to want to sustain it. Clean energy doesn't
cost jobs. It creates new technologies and is more efficient. Pollution
has external costs that don't get factored in balance sheets. Thus,
environmentalists are not anti-business or anti-America, they just
prefer the greater good over the short term profits of those who
fund the Bush Administration. It's amazing how all of OxyContin's
arguments are complete bullshit, and yet he's on TV! How come we're
not on TV? We're willing to put on weight and take prescription
pain killers. We'd even eat a Big Mac or two if that's what it takes
(well, some of us). Maybe it's our politics. Because we wouldn't
lie and bend every political current into a polemic against liberals
in order to blindly support the conservative-Republican cause.
