Ever heard of the Internet?

In real life, money follows results. When an inventor creates a useful product, investors find him, market the product and sell it. There's no need for the federal government to get involved. In fact, federal involvement usually means an approach has failed.... That embryonic stem cell research is being left to the federal government speaks volumes. (Ed Fuelner, "Tough cell," Washington Times, 6/8/05)

Maybe these "experts" have heard of evolution

Kansas' is a case where education "experts" and judges are telling legislators and the voters who elect them that no, they can't spend their tax dollars as they determine through democratic processes. [...] Kansas jurists, with the help of the education "experts," have shoved aside lawmakers and voters because they think they know better how to spend the public dollars. (Editorial, "Activist judges in Kansas," Washington Times, 6/10/05)

If that's the consequence, you're making it sound pretty good

The consequences of the death of the holy are ubiquitous. Secular Europe is far readier to feature nudity on public television than is Judeo-Christian America, and it is far more accepting of people walking around nude in public at beaches. (Dennis Prager, "We are not just animals: Judeo-Christian values part XV," Town Hall, 6/14/05)

What about that 4:20 kind of discipline?

Each morning my father would come into my bedroom around 4:30 am and command me to get up and work the fields. I would spend the next two hours before school slopping pigs and cropping tobacco. Was it fun? Not even close. But these early lessons in physical striving taught me discipline, work ethic, routine, and responsibility and instilled an attitude of achievement that would, later in life, propel me past the lethargic others. My point is, if you want to achieve anything in life, it is not enough to merely wish for it. You must develop that kind of 4:30 AM discipline that distinguishes you from others. (Armstrong Williams, "A few simple steps to building wealth," Town Hall, 6/13/05)

But there's one wild card in the Jackson situation that did not exist in the Peterson case — celebrity. The accuser's mother clearly targeted Jackson. She's a bad person and allowed her son to be put in jeopardy no matter what happened.

Poverty is a mental disease at worst and a behavioral disorder at best.  The rich keep getting richer because they keep doing the things that make them rich.  Ditto for the poor.  Everyone is where they are in life as a direct result of the decisions they have made to put them there.  If they've worked hard, they can be rich.  If not, then they won't be rich.  Unless, of course, you're a Kennedy and get rich by default.
